An Update From The Bear Den

We have officially completed the first semester of the school year. Your son or daughter should have brought home his/her 2nd quarter report card on Friday. We also wrapped up our winter FAST testing last week. Your child's teacher can update you on your child's progress on the state-mandated FAST testing, as well as the district IRLA testing. These scores will indicate your child's progress in the areas of literacy and math.

February brings lots of upcoming events for Danville Elementary. The students are sure to be excited about the 100th Day of School coming up on February 11th, as well as their classroom Valentine's Day celebrations on Friday, February 12th.

Read on for a few more updates from the Bear Den.

Important Info Alert

*Please be reminded that on all late start days, there is no breakfast.

*The beginning of the second semester is a great time to ask your child if he/she needs any school supplies replenished.

*Please be reminded the building doors do not open for students until 8:00 a.m each day.

*We have adjusted our pick up system yet again, to help decrease the traffic on Main Street during dismissal time. Please use the drive through pick up lane OR pull in and park in the first row of parking spots. Please refrain from parking along the street. We would also prefer if people remain in their cars as much as possible, to avoid crowd gathering during Covid-19. Thank you!

Valentine's Day Celebrations

Due to Covid-19 mitigation, we have made some adjustments to our Valentine's Day celebrations at school. We are asking that all Valentine cards arrive at school on or before Monday, February 8th. We will "quarantine" the cards in a bag for the week, before the students open them on Friday, February 12th during the class Valentine's Day parties. We also ask that you DO NOT send food or candy with your cards this year. These efforts will allow us to safely celebrate with the students on Friday. Thank you for your cooperation!
