Illinois Assessment for Readiness (IAR) testing begins next week Monday and will continue through Friday, April 12th (makeup testing will be the week of April 15th) for students in third through fifth grades. Here is a checklist to help your child do his or her best on these tests:

2. Ensure that your child gets a good night’s sleep on the nights before testing;

3. Providing a healthy breakfast, snack, and lunch on the days of testing;

4. Remind your child to ask questions if he/she does not understand the test directions;

5. Let your child know that you have confidence in his/her ability to do his/her best;

6. Advise your child not to worry about the test – just do the best he/she can do.
