Election Workers Needed
Dallas County Elections Department (DCED) is gearing up for the May 22, 2018 Primary Runoff Election. We are still accepting applications for the DECD Student Worker Program. The deadline to receive applications will be Friday May 22nd. Since the election is in 2 weeks there will not be training involved. We are accepting applications from students who have either worked in prior elections or have at least attended training. We will still accept applications from new students only at your discretion (so if interested, make sure you talk to Batik first). The DCED trust our educator’s opinions and recommendations for student workers. So by your recommendation will we offer online training to students that have not worked before. This election will be held on a school day, so a principal’s signature is required. Also, if the student is 18 years or older they also do not require a parents signature, just their own signature will suffice. The DCED care about our student workers and schools alike and try to help out as much as we can. That’s why we try to make this an easy process for them. So we have created a new form for students that they can take to their judges to fill out and return it to their schools attendance office. So they will not be counted absent for the day. There are multiple ways that the students can return the applications such as: by mail, by fax, or even by taking a picture with their phones and emailing it to the address given on the applications.
Since students do not have to attend a physical training session they will receive their placement assignment by email. It is important that we receive a good email address from students. Since that is our main form of communication.
