21st Century Cyber Charter School Newsletter: May 2021
Notes From Our Principals
Hello to all of our students and families at 21st Century Cyber Charter School!
Thank you to all middle school students who participated in PSSA state testing in April. We appreciate all of your flexibility and cooperation this year with all of the added health and safety requirements we needed to follow. It truly was a team effort!
In May, we celebrate Teacher and Nurse Appreciation Week. Please join us in showing our appreciation as we celebrate this month. Please feel free to tell your favorite teachers, school counselors, and nurses how they’ve helped you in honor of these appreciation days! We appreciate everything they do for our students and our school.
Keystone exams are scheduled for Tuesday, May 18th-Thursday, May 20th. The Keystone exams are end-of-course exams and measure our students’ progress and provide us with actionable data to help improve academic performance. Emails regarding testing locations have already been emailed and will be resent this week. More information regarding testing and safety protocols will be sent out closer to the testing window. If you have any questions about testing, please reach out to our testing coordinator Mrs. McCoy, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Keystone Testing Dates and Times
May 18th - Algebra I - 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
May 19th - Biology - 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
May 20th - Literature - 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
As we get closer to the end of the quarter, we wanted to remind you that students will be given access to the rest of the quarter material on Monday, May 17th. You may notice a change in students’ grades at that point which is due to factoring in the assignments for the rest of the quarter to accurately reflect where students are for the quarter.
Warm weather is finally here as we head into the final full month of school. With this in mind, it is important to stay focused to finish the school year strong. Even though only a few weeks are remaining, your student still has time to reach their goals for this quarter.
Focus on remembering these strategies for success:
Set goals - Goals of any size can be anything from getting dressed in the morning to completing a certain amount of points by a certain time in the week. Keeping goals will help you keep track of what needs to be completed.
Be aware - keep a countdown! Keeping a countdown can help you keep track of how many days you have left in the school year. In turn, that can help you plan out your assignments better to make sure you have time to do as many assignments as needed.
Continue to encourage your friends and fellow students - everyone likes hearing thoughtful, encouraging words! When you encourage others, it makes you think about positive things in general and can, in turn, encourage yourself!
As the school year winds down, we still have a few fun activities planned. Be sure to check out the Moodle page for up-to-date information regarding these events. We hope you will join us!
Look for an update email coming in the next few days if you RSVP'd for graduation. The update will have the time for the ceremony you will attend. As a reminder, the last day for seniors is May 27th at 3:30 pm.
We both want to thank all of you for being with us this year and making it a great year. This year presented many changes due to the pandemic and we have worked together to adapt. That is a testament to the type of staff and families we have here at 21CCCS. Together we can truly accomplish anything.
Please stay safe, and we are looking forward to a great end of the year.
Greetings 21CCCS Students and Families!
We are almost at the finish line! We are well into Q4 and the idea of summer is right around the corner. Although this year has still looked different than most, there are many accomplishments to celebrate.
To our Seniors - we are so proud of you and thankful for your time here at 21CCCS. Now is a time to celebrate you and all of your accomplishments. Your years of schooling have helped shape you into the person you are today. Remember to always be true to yourself and strive to attain your goals!
Speaking of goals . . . summer vacation undoubtedly brings a time for relaxation, but also an opportunity to try something new. We would like to challenge you all to work towards one new goal this summer. Perhaps it is to get your first job, start a garden, begin a new hobby, volunteer somewhere, or take a private lesson to learn a skill you have been interested in. Whatever it may be, the summer is a great time to devote your attention to that goal. As always, your academic advisors, teachers, school counselors, and principals are all here to support you as you finish up Q4. And we would love to hear all about your summer goal when you return in the Fall.
All the best!
