Scholarships & Academic Excellence
Senior Scholarship Night is Thursday, May 25 at 6:30pm. This night is dedicated to honor and recognize the Class of 2017’s scholarship awards and academic excellence.
This is a cap and gown event.
**If you have received a scholarship from your college or an organization, you need to email or bring a copy of the award letter to Ms. Miller by Friday, May 19th. Seniors who have turned in their award letter to Ms. Miller will be recognized at Senior Scholarship Night for their scholarship. Seniors are recognized for the scholarships they use, not for all the scholarships they are offered. If you do not turn in your letter, you will not be recognized. Please see Ms. Morris or Ms. Miller if you have any questions.
**Academic Excellence: Seniors with a weighted 3.5 GPA or higher will be recognized at Senior Scholarship Night. These students will receive a special invitation.
Honor Graduate Details
Seniors who have a final weighted GPA of 3.6 will be given a gold tassel at graduation practice to wear on graduation day.

Graduation Attire
Proper Cap & Gown Attire
- Everyone will wear dark dress shoes. No casual sandals, flip-flops or tennis shoes.
- The cap is worn on the top of the head with the board parallel to the ground. The tassel should hang over the front right side.
- Ladies, wear a dress or skirt and blouse. The dress or skirt should not be visible below the hem of your gown. No slacks or shorts, please.
- Gentlemen, wear dark slacks and a white or light-colored shirt with a tie.
- Since the purpose of the cap and gown is dignity and uniformity, you cannot alter them with writing or other forms of decoration.
If you cannot afford any of the required items of clothing, please see the principal, a counselor, or a teacher privately. Give us enough time and we can help you get what you need.
