Elementary Curriculum and Instruction Online Resources.

Teachers and Parents,

We are very excited to let you know about a new addition to Elementary Curriculum and Instruction online resources. It is titled The Scope on Summer Learning and is easily accessed through the Katy ISD webpage>Parents>A View Into Elementary Instruction or by clicking on the link Once there, click on the picture shown below. It will take you to links for Reading, Science, and Math engaging learning activities for our students! What a fun way to keep learning happening over summer break! Thanks!

Calendar - Please note the change in Specialty Rotation Days due to our change in field days.

Thursday, 5/19 - Rotation Day 4, last day of morning I-station, Eagle Art Crew 3:45pm

Friday, 5/20 - Rotation Day 5, Choir End of Year Celebration 7:15am

Monday,5/23 - Rotation Day 0, Chess Club 7:35am, Field Day 5th grade 8:30am, 2nd grade 10:10am and Kinder 1:15pm, Lego Club End of Year Celebration 3:45pm

Tuesday,5/24 - Rotation Day 0, End of Year Celebrations for PK (am 10:30-11:20am and pm 1:30-2:15pm) and Kinder 10:30-11:45am, Field Day for 4th grade 8:30am, 3rd grade 10:10 and 1st grade 1:30pm.

Wednesday;, 5/25 - Rotation Day 6, End of Year Celebrations for 1st grade 10:15-11:45am and 2nd 12-1:30pm, Senior Reception 4pm

End of Year Celebrations

Our End of Year Celebrations are coming up starting on May 24th. We will begin each event in the classroom and then go to the playground area for a picnic. You can bring your child lunch or a lunch can be purchased from the cafeteria. Below is a schedule of the End of Year Celebrations.

May 24th - PK (am 10:30-11:20am and pm 1:30-2:15pm) and Kinder 10:30-11:45am

May 25th - 1st grade 10:15-11:45am and 2nd 12-1:30pm

May 26th - 3rd grade 10:15-11:45am and 4th grade 11:45am - 1:15pm

June 1st - 5th grade graduation 9am immediately followed by the clap out and the 5th grade party begins at 1pm

Please utilize our sign up genius for each event for a faster sign in process when arriving on campus. Each visitor must be prepared to present ID upon request as it is required for entry into the building. We will have separate check in areas set up for those that have pre-registered . We have been working on this process and hope to make it a process that will benefit our visitors for these special events. The sign up genius' are shown below.

Congratulations Sue Dean Smith for being chosen as Winborn Elementary's Volunteer of the year for the 2015-2016 school year. We appreciate your dedication to our school and your hours of work helping with so many projects and tasks through out the school year. Your hard work is appreciated!

Senior Reception, Wednesday, May 25th 4pm in the Winborn Library

Calling all Class of 2016 Graduating Seniors that attended Winborn Elementary! On Wednesday, May 25th at 4pm in our library we will celebrate these seniors. If your child is graduating this year and attended Winborn, please pass the word along to them and their friends! All graduating seniors that attended Winborn are welcome! Former DWE Eagles can reconnect with old friends, see their elementary teachers and look around the school and playground and reminisce of the elementary school years!

We look forward to this event every year!

As a friendly reminder, due to the end of the year quickly approaching, please call in your daily absence of your child to the front office at 281-237-6650 and submit attendance notes on a daily basis. This will ensure your child is marked appropriately. Notes will be accepted for the month of May until May 31st. If you have any questions, please call Adriana Rangel at 281-237-6655.
