Core Values to Build Character

As you may know, all campuses within our district are focusing on character development and are pursuing the certification. This is a lengthy process that involves many steps; there are 11 principles and each one has several components. Thus the character committee has decided to break down each principle into actionable, weekly items for campus focus.

YOU've been THANKED (instead of "pranked")

The Student Council and KINDNESS Club would like to encourage our TIGER families to share some gratitude this month by issuing a challenge to you all!

Please keep GRATITUDE spreading by following these directions:

  1. Make 2 copies of the note (linked below) and sign.
  2. Make 2 treats or write two notes of gratitude.
  3. Secretly deliver the gift, directions, and "THANKED" sign to two neighbors who haven't been "THANKED" yet. Keep an eye out to see the GRATITUDE spread.

It has been said that Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.

It turns what we have into enough, and more.

It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. --Melody Beattle

We hope you will join us in making our world a better place with each act of kindness!

CLICK HERE to access the "YOU've been THANKED!" doc.

A message from the Fort Worth Area Program Director, Lynnsie Himmel:

Dear Harmony Parents and Guardians,

As we navigate this unprecedented time, Elite Learning aims to provide you with

consistent, high-quality after-school care. We are currently training our staff to ensure safe and effective care for your children.

For safety purposes upon reopening, we will be providing a much lower student-to-

teacher ratio (which will vary from district to district). In order to re-open our program, we must

meet a minimum enrollment of 15 students at each site.

Please click to visit: for tuition rates and to enroll.

Thank you for your patience and please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Reading is a passion we want students to continue to love as they move into their adult lives. A love of reading is one of the best gifts we can impart to our students. Guiding and modeling for students to read more and discover more about who they are as readers this is what a challenge is all about.

So, what’s the challenge?

For this challenge at Harmony in grades Kindergarten to 5th grade, we are going to start with the fall semester. For the fall, we are asking every KIndergarten, 1st, and 2nd grader to read at least 20 books; and every 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grader to challenge themselves to read at least 10 novels.

It is not a grade but an opportunity to share and enjoy reading; teachers should make this a part of their class with regular updates on progress, celebrations of achievements, and book chats on what everyone is reading.
