Class of 2021--Washington DC Information Update
The first deposit due date for the Class of 2021 D.C. trip has been extended from Friday, February 28th to Friday, March 6th. The first deposit is $300.00 and payment can be made by check to EHHS and submitted to Mrs. Straub or Mrs. LaBonte or online through MyPaymentsPlus.com (the website used for student lunch accounts). Students that took part in the Yankee Candle Fundraiser in October can also use their fundraiser money towards payment for the Washington, D.C. trip. Please contact your class advisors to apply those funds towards the trip.
Deposit 1: $300.00 on March 6th
Deposit 2: $300.00 on April 24th
Deposit 3: Remainder of trip cost on June 5th*
*If price decreases, then the final balance will be communicated to parents/guardians.
Culinary Arts News
Culinary Arts II students will be competing in a breakfast cook-off sponsored by The Sleepy Rooster Café and in collaboration with the school cafeteria. Students have been assembled into groups and will serve their original recipes during National Breakfast Week, starting on March 2 and running through the week of March 9th, in our very own high school cafeteria. The winner will be decided by group has the amount of highest sales. Descriptions of the dishes will be featured on the daily news the day prior to each dish being served.

Athletic Department News
Dylan Levesque won the CIAC Class S State Wrestling Championship at 120 pounds. Dylan will wrestle in the CIAC State Open Championships on Friday 2/28 in New Haven.
The Cheerleading team won the Shoreline Conference Championship on Saturday in Westbrook. Their next competition is this Saturday at East Haven High School. The senior cheerleaders will be honored on Thursday 2/27 prior to the boys varsity basketball game vs HK, the senior recognition ceremony will take place at 6:45 pm.
Jacob Ireland placed third in the 1000 meters at the CIAC State Open Championships and qualified for the New England’s next weekend and the Nationals in two weeks.
Liv DiStefano finished third in the 1600 meters and also qualified for the New England’s next weekend.
The Varsity Boys Basketball team defeated Old Saybrook, Tourtelotte and Westbrook last week. Their season record is now 12-6. Their next game is Tuesday 2/25 at North Branford and their final home game of the regular season is Thursday 5/27 vs HK, the senior recognition ceremony will begin at 6:45 pm.
The Junior Varsity Boys Basketball team lost to Old Saybrrok and defeated Tourtelotte and Westbrook. Their season record is now 8-10. Their next game is Tuesday 2/25 at North Branford.
The Varsity Girls Basketball team defeated Old Saybrook and Westbrook to conclude their regular season. They also defeated North Branford in the ¼ Finals of the Shoreline Conference Tournament. Their season record is now 20-1. Their next game is vs Lyme-Old Lyme in the Shoreline Conference semi-finals at Coginchaug High School on Tuesday 2/25 at 7:00 pm.

The Varsity Ice Hockey co-op team lost to Hand and defeated the co-op team of Lyman Hall/HK/Coginchaug. Their season record is 8-9. Their next game is Monday at home in East Haven vs Guilford.
Seniors Maggie Donohue and Noah Gibson has been chosen as CIAC scholar-athletes for the 19-20 school year. They will be honored at a state wide banquet in May at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington.
Scholar Athlete Award Recipients
Football Team Volunteers
10 members of the Coginchaug Football team (including players from East Hampton) volunteered their time to help sort food at the CT Foodbank in Wallingford, CT. The boys spent 3 hours working and sorted through over 5,000 pounds of food for distribution. The event was organized by the Coginchaug Football Club.
School Counseling Update
Over the next month we hope that our Juniors spend some additional time on KHAN Academy prepping for the CT SAT on March 25th. All students will be provided with #2 pencils but will need to provide their own calculators.
CAS Arts Awards Recipients
World Language Week
Monday: International Flag Hunt – Students find flags hidden all over the school. If they can identify the country and the official language of the country they receive a treat.
Tuesday: International Shirt Day—Students wear an international shirt to school and receive a prize.
Wednesday: French Club Sponsored—Eiffel tower Trivia activity
Thursday: Spanish and French vocabulary tournament
Friday: Mariachi performance during all three lunch waves for the student body
The student co-chairs of this week are Angela Mercaldi and Sam Gibson.
America's Next Top Bellringer
America’s Next Top Bellringer is coming to East Hampton High School on Thursday, March 5th at 7:00. Student volunteers will be compete in three rounds – question & answers, “minute to win it” challenges, and an outfit round – with the winner of each round determined by votes from the audience. Tickets are $5, and this fundraiser is being sponsored by the Ferrigno-Bell chapter of the National Honor Society with all proceeds being donated to charity.
