Academy of the Arts at Bransom
November 13-17 (School Days 58-62)
A Note From Your Principal
First, you do not want to miss out on the opportunity to help your PTO raise the needed money to support our school. Rather than a cumbersome sale of some kind, the committee decided that a Write-A-Check campaign would be less time consuming and easier for parents with very busy schedules. Wednesday is the final day for the campaign but we are very far from the goal. According to the PTO Executive Board, we have had less than 100 families who have participated in the campaign. So, I hope that we see a significant rise in the participation over the next three days. We'll keep you posted on the progress. Check out PTO's website (http://bransompto.com/) and Facebook page. By the way, don't forget that students may have WACky hair on Wednesday to celebrate the final day.
Second, we want to invite the entire student body and their families to the 1st grade production of "Thanks, Thanksgiving," this Thursday night at Centennial High School. The program will begin promptly at 6:00pm in the high school auditorium. Whether your child is performing or not, you and your child will enjoy the holiday entertainment. We hope you'll make plans to attend. The program is free of charge.
In closing I do want to also remind everyone that Friday will be a full day of instruction with no early dismissal. We want every minute to count so make this week a great week for attendance. Classes begin at 7:45 so don't let your child be late.
Thanks for your continued support. We know you have a choice in your child's education. Thanks for choosing us!
Respectfully,
Mrs. Burchfield

Community Veteran's Day Program
I just want to say that the performance of our students at the Community Veteran's Day program on Friday was magnificent. We looked extremely classy. They sounded tremendous. Our behaviors were second to none. Our students performed in singing by a select choir, signing with the choir, playing the piano, and reciting poetry accompanied by live music. Needless to say, I was very proud of the way they represented our school. Thanks, Parents, for doing your part to help your children be prepared for their performance.

PLEASE DON'T FORGET OUR WILDLY IMPORTANT GOAL
- If your child's teacher requests your child to be a part of tutoring, please do whatever it takes to get them there.
- Read with your child every night. If you do not have adequate books to read at home, ask your child's teacher. We will get them to you!
- Check out the public library for additional books for your child to read.
- Take advantage of discount bookstores that can help build your home library.
- Ask family members to give books instead of toys alone for holidays.
- Start your day with a joke from a joke book.
- Make sure your child sees you read everyday!
- Help your child start a book club to read books with family and/or friends.
It is never too early or too late to make a difference in the reading lives of your child.
We know that our students will be more successful in math, science, and social studies if they can successfully read the appropriately leveled material for their grade.
Thanks for helping us help our students.
