Get To Know Your Colleagues
Marissa Thomas is glad this year has been considered a "mild winter." She's also thankful to have gotten to know amazing friends and colleagues since she arrived here last October. Originally from St. Louis, and coming to us via the CDC, Marissa is here for two years as a CDC Public Health Associate, working with Tobacco Free Columbia Dane County Coalition. She's responsible for outreach and education in Columbia County in the areas of youth prevention, smoke-free multi-unit housing, and general community education about new tobacco and nicotine products. She says she is excited to see "many great policies being put in place from the education the coalition provides," and hopes that, soon, "all tobacco products and electronic delivery devices are banned in all indoor and outdoor public places."
Marissa lives in Sun Prairie and enjoys attending sporting events and concerts, appreciates the abundance of local restaurants here, and says she's "looking forward to trying all of the food carts at least once."
