Ms. Bornstad ~ First Grade

Hello Spackenkill families, my name is Brittany Bornstad. I am a first year first grade teacher at Nassau Elementary School. I recently graduated from Mount Saint Mary College with my undergrad in Early Childhood/Childhood Education and my Masters in Special Education grades 1-6. A couple of my hobbies include playing soccer, watching soccer, and spending time with my family. I'm looking forward to this upcoming year and make it a fun and positive year full of learning new things!

I've also taught fourth grade and third grade. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, reading, and walking my dog, Bella!

Karen Sauer ~ Teaching Assistant

Hello! My name is Karen Sauer. I am delighted to return to the Nassau family as a teaching assistant in Mrs. Zanca's and Mrs. Christolon's second grade class. I have worked in our district over 10 years throughout every building as a library helper, teaching assistant, and in the summer academy. I have a broad view of the students paths through personal growth and achievements leading to graduation. My deepest passion is at the early elementary level, and it feels so right to be back at Nassau!

Smart Snacking

Please remember daily to bring in a healthy snack and a water bottle. Healthy snacks help to satisfy hunger between meals, boost energy, and ensures that children are getting all of the nutrients they need to fuel their growth and development. Learning to eat and enjoy healthy snacks encourages kids to develop healthy eating habits.
