C.I.S.P.C. Mission Statement
General Membership - WE ARE MOVING OUR LOCATION AND TIME
General Membership Meetings are now going to be held at the Justice Resource Institute located at 221 Willow Street Yarmouth Port, MA. 02675.
Our next General Membership meeting is scheduled for July 12, 2018 beginning at 3:00 PM. On the agenda will be members of our Steering Committee providing a QPR- (Question Persuade Refer) Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Training.
We will also be discussing and approving the budget for fiscal year 2019.
Volunteers Wanted
C.I.S.P.C. remains committed to our mission. To provide Cape Cod and the Islands communities necessary information and tools to raise awareness, promote education, and increase action to reduce suicides. We cannot do it alone. We are looking for volunteers to help us spread the word at different functions and events that may come up throughout the year.

Question Persuade Refer Training

Welcome our newest Steering Committee member
Melissa Maguire has served as the Director of Student Services for the Monomoy Regional School District for the past two years. Prior to this, she was the Director of Pupil Personnel for the Shrewsbury Public Schools for eight years. She completed her undergraduate degree at Worcester State University and her Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at Assumption College. She has been in the field of special education for the past 30 years. Born and raised on Cape Cod, she left to pursue her education, career and raise a family. With her children now grown, she returned to the Cape to finish out her career.
Additionally, Ms. Maguire is a certified Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor and Botvin Lifeskills Parent Anti-Addiction Instructor and is committed to educating the Cape Cod and Islands communities on Suicide prevention and anti-addiction.

QPR provides 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help prevent suicide. QPR teaches how to recognize a mental health emergency and how to get a person at risk connected to the help they need.
