Last Day of School

The Last Day of School is May 23rd.
Please note it is a 1pm Dismissal!

St. Jude Laps for Life

Dunlap Grade will be joining forces with other district elementary schools to support the children of St. Jude by participating in Laps for Life during the school day on Thursday, May 19th.

We currently have two students at Dunlap Grade School that have benefited from the life-saving treatments that St. Jude provides free of cost to the families.

Fundraising packets were sent home with students yesterday and can be returned to school at any point between now and May 19th. Please note that this effort is completely optional and students will be able to participate in the activities during the event regardless if they raise funds or not.

Medication


Any medications, both prescription and non-prescription, need to have a District Medication Authorization Form completed before they can be given at school. The

Prescription medications: taken during school hours must be brought to the school by a parent in a prescription container with the name of the medication, the doctor, the amount to be given, and the time of day to be taken. A prescription label needs to be with medications.


Over the counter medications: (i.e.: Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Claritin, eye drops, ointments, cough drops) also need a Medication Authorization form filled out in order to be administered at school. Please be aware that all items need to be brought in from home as the school does not have them on hand.


If you currently have any emergency or over the counter medications here at the school they need to be picked up on or before the last day of school, May 23, 2016. The district nurse will be disposing of any medications left at the school after that date. If you are unable to pick up the medication by end of the school day on May 23, please call the office to make arrangements for a pick up time. These procedures need to be followed to ensure the safety and well being of all our students.

Current 2nd Grade Students

As a reminder, all current second graders are required to have a current dental exam on file per Illinois State Law. If you have not turned in your child’s dental exam for the 2015-2016 school year, please provide a copy to the office before the conclusion of the school year. If you have any questions, please let us know.

What is a Garage No SALE? It is where you come and pick up any items you want, no limit! There is NO COST, FREE!!!!

10am-2pm

Staffing Updates

We have some changes occurring with the DGS staff at the conclusion of the year. We will bid farewell to five of our staff members. We wish them all luck on their new adventures.
