SANFORD BOOK PUSHERS
Pre-Service Week Edition
Thanks for all your hard work: Book Pusher, I-Read, I-Chart, Conferencing and Book Reivew
Thank you for all you are doing to get your room ready and plan great instruction. So far we have emphasized the instruction of a Sanford Book Pusher with an I-READ classroom structure and I-CHARTS to help define student routines and procedures. We have had great guidance from Barbara on Reading Conferencing and Book Reviews.
As teams, I have seen collaboration and been impressed by your great ideas and look forward to seeing your wisdom in action.

Book Whisperer event is on Wednesday at Heritage HS at 8AM (you do not need to come to Sanford before it starts). We have set up a “Discussion Board” on Sanford SharePoint with a guiding question to get your thoughts afterwards—all instructional staff: please post after the BW event.

Review the videos that Nurse Gloria Bartos referenced (info pasted below)
These are required again this year.
1 Go to my NNPS Intranet.
2.Sign in
3.Safety Videos in the yellow triangle. Click on and view the Blood Borne Pathogens. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and on the right you will see Anaphylaxis required by all employees. Remember to submit when you are done. These can be done from home.
4. Also next week the Blood borne video will be ran on the TV all day for you to view in your rooms if you do not want to watch at home. The anaphylaxis cannot be viewed at home. Must sign the sheet in the clinic if you watch the one at school. Thanks,Gloria
Note about Breakfast—update from previous email sent by Cafeteria Manager: we will continue with the system we used last year. Bins will be delivered to each room. Data from each room will be used to determine how many items you receive. The goal is that you will have enough each day with limited amount of situations when you have to seek breakfasts from another room. We have proposed a system that Lead Teachers came up with and it is being reviewed by the Child Nutrition Services.
Set up your room to establish the Sanford I-Read culture (I attached a picture from one classroom I just visited, Georgia Estes) (review Powerpoint placed on SharePoint for ideas; develop I-Charts).
Review Staff Reference Guide—Leads will submit signature form that team members reviewed (due on Friday Sept 2).
Get your picture taken by Kathleen with a book for her Book Pushing display-great idea
