This Month's Meetings: 7th and 21st

State!

March 31st to April 2nd was the Oregon State Thespian Conference. Everyone there can agree it was a ton of fun! Even though our state qualifying small group musical piece didn't qualify for nationals plenty of other great things came out of this competition.

First off our tech group won the tech competition! They competed against many other schools around the state in things like setting up a prop table and hanging lights. Shout out to our team: Maria, Dana, Jordan, Dipper, Delaney, and Ethan. Tigard High School theatre is now the proud home to the traveling tech trophy (until someone else wins it at state next year).

Next, the state etiquette video was chosen to be shown before the mainstage performance! A huge thanks to Cody for filming and editing along with Finn and Jay who helped write and direct it along with all of our wonderful actors who took time out of their lunch and class to be in this project.

And last but not least Actor's Nightmare, the one-act we performed qualified to be performed at nationals in Indiana in June! Congrats to Deja, Ava, Ryan, Ryder, Jay, and Dana (who last-minute ran lights for us).

Fundraising

Along with qualifying to go to nationals comes a hefty price tag (of ~$13k) so we need to start fundraising as soon as we can! Currently, a lot of the ideas are still up in the air and being fleshed out but one that will be happening soon is a coin drive between all the grades.

Look out on our Instagram (@tigardtheatre) and google classroom for more updates on fundraisers!

Winnie the Pooh

Rehearsals for Winnie the Pooh have started! The show dates are the 12th-14th and the 19th-21st of May.

Thespian Senior of the Month: Ryan Curry

I'm Ryan Curry, the baddest bitch alive but not in a cool way. In the sense that I'm actually just a horrible person. I am the president and my favorite part of theatre this year has been watching the underclassmen fall in love with the stage
