January 14, 2022 - JANUARY 21, 2022
We have cause for celebration, Otters! AISD has provided electronic devices for EVERY student at Olson, per a previously passed bond.
We strongly encourage our 3rd - 6th graders to purchase district insurance for their devices so that they may take them home when needed. Even if your child has access to a home computer, we would like for ALL students to be able to bring home their Chromebooks when needed as they are loaded with the specific software, browsers, and shortcuts they need for their schoolwork.
The Chromebook insurance is only $30 per device, and will cover accidental damage.
Families who qualify for the Free/Reduced Lunch program are eligible for a discount.
If your child is in 3rd – 6th grade, please click here to purchase Chromebook insurance and give your kiddo the ability to bring home his/her computer as needed.
Thank you, parents!

SHOW ✨YOUR OTTER ✨ SPIRIT
Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) is a program from the National Center for Fathering, whose purpose is to provide positive male role models for students by being present in education.
Watch D.O.G.S. are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for at least one day during the school year by being helping in the classroom, lunch, recess, specials, at arrival and dismissal, etc.
If you are interested in volunteering as a Watch D.O.G., please refer to Watch D.O.G.S. Information website for Olson. We appreciate you taking the time to volunteer!
Determination is deciding it is worth finishing what you started. We all know that overwhelming feeling of being at the beginning of a huge project—homework, room cleaning, or home renovations, just to name a few. It can be discouraging. It does require hard work, encouragement, but most importantly, you must have the never give up attitude, you have to have grit! And when you get to the end and see your accomplishments, it’s totally worth it!
Learn this great lesson together as a family this month by setting up a complicated jigsaw puzzle, or create a project that the family can do together. Work on it throughout the month, as a family, and don’t give up until it’s finished!
