"What's Up, Waldrip?"
3GStrong - Classroom Meeting Update
In our efforts to create 3GStrong students at Bledsoe, last week’s class meetings focused on friendship.
Students learned good friends...
- Make you feel included.
- Tell the truth.
- Say sorry for mistakes.
- Don't stay mad at you.
- Notice your feelings.
- Stay your friend in good and bad times.
- Make you feel good about yourself when you are with them.
In addition, students learned how to give and receive compliments and practiced in a compliment circle. All our teachers shared the compliments students gave one another were genuine and created a moment they would cherish forever! We tasked students to help Grace give advice for some friends who were having a few friendship problems. (See below) They discussed a variety of scenarios that included; feeling left out, standing up for what is right, what to do when friends make you sad and many more. We ended the week with students dropping their friendship rocks in our new friendship rock garden behind the library.
We are so proud of the work our students are doing to grow and be 3GSTRONG!
Diverse Abilities - Thank you PTA Volunteers
Diverse Abilities Day is intended to raise awareness about various life challenges. Many stations offer a way for students to experience the difference they are learning about. Bledsoe students participated in stations based on the life challenges represented in our student population, in hopes of educating peers, celebrating differences, and creating a culture of acceptance. The stations included: Anxiety, Sensory Processing, Dyslexia, and Hearing.
Bledsoe's Jump Rope for Heart Success
Bledsoe's campus fundraising goal was $17,000. Bledsoe exceeded the goal by raising over $25,000! Way to go Bledsoe students and community members.
Through Jump Rope For Heart kids learn jump rope skills, how their heart works and raise money to help kids with special hearts. Bledsoe students have had fun, learned how to stay healthy and make a difference in the lives of others!

Good Morning Bledsoe – Friday, March 2nd
WHY:
JDRF is the leading global organization to fund Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) research.
Wakeland's head coach, Barry Rose, has a son that was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes a few years ago. Therefore, this is a cause near and dear to both team's hearts. The boys will be selling t-shirts for $10/shirt.
ALL proceeds will go to JDRF.
We'd love to see you at GMB Friday, March 2nd, to help these boys try and "strike out" juvenile diabetes (and Mrs. Swiney!). 😊
T-shirts will be sold immediately following GMB on March 2nd and before school March 5th-7th. Cash/check only please.
DETAILS:
· For each T-shirt purchased, your child or family's name will be entered into a drawing for a $200 Visa Gift Card at the Reedy/Wakeland baseball game on March 23rd. If you'd rather not purchase a T-shirt, but would like to donate, for every $10 donated, your family will receive 3 tickets for the Visa gift card drawing.
· We are asking every student that purchases a T-shirt to wear their shirt to school Friday, March 23rd, to take a group picture showing our community’s support. In addition, anyone that wears their t-shirt to the Wakeland/Reedy game that night (7:30 at Reedy) receives free admission to the game!
Please see the link below if you'd like more information about JDRF and its mission. Thank you, in advance, for your support!
