Message from the Principal
Hello Westridge Community,
As we continue our school wide focus on gratitude this month, I am so appreciative of all of the examples of how incredible our students are. For example, did you know that Westridge has a Student Leadership Team?
Our Student Leadership Team is made up of fifth grade leaders who volunteer their time to make Westridge an amazing place to be. Our student leaders serve on four teams: The Green Team, Newspaper, Service, and School Events. Each team has a set of goals and priorities that all create a stronger, better Westridge. Thank you to our student leaders! We are so grateful for you!
Sincerely,
Jules Laaperi

Required: Your Patience and Best Behavior
Reminders:
- Please pull all the way forward to let your child out at the front of the school where staff is standing. This helps the flow of traffic on Royce and ensures students get out of the car safely.
- Please do not pull into the outside lane to get ahead of the car in front of you. Be patient and wait your turn. If you are in a hurry, please park and walk your child to the school or have them ride the bus.
- Please do not get out of your car. If you need to help your child out of the car or get something from the trunk, etc please park your car.
- Never put your car in reverse in the drop off lane.
Remember, your children are always watching.

Vision Screening November 29th: Grades K,1,3,5
Dear Parents and Guardians:
Lake Oswego School District will be conducting the annual vision screening for students in your child’s school:
Westridge Elementary School on Monday, Nov. 29 at 8:45am.
Vision screening will be done by the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation. The OLSHF uses a Spot screener to do the vision screening. It looks like a large camera that takes a picture of your child’s eyes.
More information about Spot:
You have the right to decline vision screening for your child. Please let your child’s teacher
know if you would like your child to OPT-OUT of vision screening.
If your child is referred to a vision specialist, you will receive screening results within two
weeks of the screening day.
If for some reason the Spot screener could not take an adequate picture of your child’s eyes; a vision screening will be done using a distance eye chart.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Westridge office at 503-534-2371.
Student Attendance:
If you need to pick your child up early from school, please let the teacher and the office know ahead of time.
