IMPORTANT Daily Deadlines!
7:30 a.m. The back doors automatically lock, and you will need to drive around and walk your child in to the building. PLEASE DO NOT DROP-OFF STUDENTS AFTER 7:30. They must be signed in by a parent or guardian.
1:30 p.m. ALL transportation changes must be made by 1:30 by emailing or calling Stephanie Garcia at (512)-746-2170 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
2:30 p.m. Any student checking out early for an appointment, must be picked up prior to 2:30. Our dismissal processes are already in place by that time making it very difficult to change.
At Jarrell Elementary, we are constantly assessing our systems to make improvements for safety, convenience, and time. Observing these cut-off times helps us ensure the smoothest possible processes! Thank you!
Parent Climate Survey
Jarrell ISD is conducting its annual parent climate survey. The survey is 14 questions and should take about 10 minutes to finish. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey. It is an opportunity for you to be heard and provide feedback. We appreciate your time.
Early Release on Friday
We will have our regular schedule with only a minor adjustment to lunches for 4th grade.
4th grade will go to lunch 10 minutes early at 12:25 and bring their things with them. We will release them to dismissal from the cafeteria.
Parent Partnership Websites
Attached you will find a "how to" to log into Classlink in English and Spanish. We have noticed that parents are having a hard time logging into online apps. Parents must go the Jarrell's Classlink or you might have issues logging in.
If you have any trouble at all, please give us a call. We are happy to help! Your child's classroom teacher can help as well as our Assistant Principals and Principal.

This week, in Science, we will explore the characteristics of living and nonliving things. We will be talking about how seeds become trees, plants, and flowers. In Language Arts, we will learn that rhyming words have the same middle and ending sounds. We will be able to recognize the letters and sounds of Dd, Ff, and Nn and we will be writing our sentences starting with a capital letter. In Math, we will recognize that shapes have angles and sides. In Social Studies we will understand that Thanksgiving is a history story.
We will be finishing up our farm unit, as well as continuing with nonstandard measurements. We will be creating all sorts of Thanksgiving crafts and having a feast in our classrooms! We are so excited to celebrate this week before break with your students. Please don't forget to RSVP to our school wide thanksgiving feast.
We know this week will bring lots of excitement for the upcoming break, but we have a lot of learning planned. In math we are transitioning back to multiplication and division, with some small groups work on rounding and estimating from our previous unit. In reading, we will be looking at key information, main ideas, comparing and contrasting in our current unit! In social studies we will be looking at timelines and how they help us understand the past, present and future.
There are so many good things happening in fourth grade this week! We will be using long division to solve word problems in math. In reading, our students are wrapping up our characterization unit. For science we will be reviewing the forms of energy and in social studies we focus on European explorers that first arrived in Texas.
In math we will be finishing up our decimal division unit, then we will begin reviewing past units and looking at the new questions types to prepare for the Math STAAR Interim post Thanksgiving break. In reading we will be taking our interim test as well as our end of unit 3 test. In science we are closing out our weather and climate unit.
The library is having a BOOK FAIR! The book fair will be open Monday-Thursday November 14-17th 8:00-3:00 and Friday November 18th 8:00-11:00 am. We will also be open during Literacy night and during Thanksgiving lunch.
