MLK Day History
On MLK Day, we celebrate Martin Luther King’s birthday, January 15th. King was a man who sought equality and human rights for African Americans and the poor through peaceful protest. He gave his famous “I Have a Dream” speech in 1963, and in 1983 President Ronald Reagan signed a bill creating a U.S. federal holiday in honor of King.
Now, the next time you enjoy a school-free Monday, you have Martin Luther King Jr. to thank!

On January 29th during the PTA meeting, a 6th grade Talent Show was held. Five of our Mill Creek sixth graders performed. They did a fabulous job! We enjoyed a range of talent that included singing and dancing. If you weren't there, you missed some great performances. Our eS2S ambassadors welcomed the crowd and greeted our visitors. It was a fun night!
The Amazing Shake!
The winners were:
Parker Wrobel
Natalie Meder
Mac Jones
Hannah Bruce
Mrs. Coleman states "We had 40 students compete in our Amazing Shake contest that tested character, social skills, confidence, charisma, poise under pressure and a handshake/greeting. The contest took place on January 9th here at Mill Creek. The winners will advance to nationals on February 9-11 in Atlanta Georgia at The Ron Clark Academy. They will be presented with many challenges at nationals that will test the same skills we tested here but on a higher and more intense level."
So, congratulations and good luck guys!!!

Thanks for reading!
Snow Days
Those 3 days of snow joke fun must have been ice, but will they reflect at the end of school? As some students may know, we have a certain number of weather days built in the calendar, and with additional days taken off earlier in the school year, will it affect the end of school? Days may be added on to the end of May. We will just have to wait and see!
