Lee's Summit R7 Parents as Teachers
September 2020
Welcome Back 2020-2021
Great Beginnings Early Education Center
Welcome Back! We are ready!
We are doing our visits virtually and are so excited to connect with you and help you to be great observers and supporters of your children. We are still here to partner with and support you so you can be your child's best and most influential teacher!
Please continue to support our program by keeping your visits, scheduling a screening and attending our virtual group connections so we can continue to support you.

Developmental Screenings for 3 to Pre-K
Our screenings for kiddos 3 to pre-k are being done virtually this year.
If you are currently enrolled in PAT, your parent educator will be in contact with you regarding the online screening process taking place this year. All in person screenings have been cancelled. If you had a screening scheduled at the office, your parent educator will be in contact with you.
If you are NOT enrolled in PAT but would like to sign your child up for a developmental screening, with LSR-7 Parents as Teachers, please click on the link below to complete your request. Please note that this link is for families that are NEW to our program only.
LS Parents As Teachers is enrolling new families!

Thanks for supporting us by sharing about our program!
The program is free and we have openings!
We are looking for members for our Advisory Board
Have you ever wanted to give of your time?
Do you have ideas and would love to share?
Then we've got an opportunity for you!
We are looking for a few more members for our Advisory Board. We meet four times during the year and the commitment is to promote and share our programming, attend our meetings and give valuable information to help us help our community. If you have questions or would like to submit your name, please email tracy.halphin@lsr7.net

Let's stop and think about you. Yes, YOU!
One of the most important gifts you can give your child is your time. If you are not feeling well or are overwhelmed with juggling all that is going on, it makes it hard to give of yourself. It is important that you are healthy both physically and mentally.
When we take time for ourselves to pursue our passions, do the things that we enjoy, relax or even do nothing at all, we end up happier, healthier and feeling better. "Me" time allows us to de-stress, unwind and rejuvenate. Taking time for yourself allows you to renew, heal, and create reserves of energy and peace.
"Me" time is not something you should feel guilty about. It's nothing more than taking some time to put aside your everyday responsibilities and treating yourself to an activity that you enjoy. It gives you an opportunity to relax, refocus and recharge. When you take time for yourself, you come back with greater focus, commitment and enjoyment. Be your own champion - be the best version of yourself - ready to handle anything that comes your way.

Apples by Gail Gibbons Go to the grocery store or the farmer’s market and buy several different varieties of apples. Taste them and talk about the flavors, textures, colors - sweet, sour, crisp, yellow, red, green! | Ten Apples Up On Top! by Dr. Seuss Practice counting with the apples and animals. Here’s a handy printable! | The Apple Pie that Papa Baked by Lauren Thompson Bake a simple apple pie together. Mix and measure, bake, and savor! (And it’s not cheating to use a pre-made pie crust!) Or for a simpler bake, toss together a delicious apple cake. |
