SUMMATIVE VOCAL PROJECT: AVI 2O0
Part 1: Revisited Past Solo Performance
For my Revisited Past Solo Performance, I chose to redo "Heaven on Their Minds", the opening piece from Andrew Lloyd Weber's Jesus Christ Superstar. I first performed this piece in front of an audience in 2013 at a school talent show. Although it seemed to be well received at the time, I feel that my pitch, enunciation and tone suffered as a result of nerves. This time around I paid special attention to these factors, focusing especially on using good breath control to improve my tone. I had never actually seen Jesus Christ Superstar, and realized that my performance required context to really be effective. I watched the movie and better understood what it was that I was trying to communicate. All in all, I feel as though this was a much stronger performance.

PART 2: NEW BROADWAY SOLO PERFORMANCE
"On the Street Where You Live", from My Fair Lady
For my New Broadway Solo Performance, I chose to perform On the Street Where You Live, from Lerner & Lowe's Broadway adaptation of George Bernard Shaw's play Pygmalion, My Fair Lady. This is a love song performed by the character Freddy, who is trying to woo Eliza Doolittle.
