Character Education Monthly Assembly - Responsibility
Miss Nagel and Ms. Dearsytne's class presented a school-wide assembly on our character education word for December: Responsibility.
Cultural Arts Assembly
We would like to thank the HSA Fine and Performing Arts Committee through our Cultural Arts program for sponsoring Musician Andy Wasserman as an artist in residency for two days giving an assembly to K-2 and workshops for each 3rd grade class. He amazed us by taking us on a journey around the world and bringing over 40 instruments to play. This interactive show allowed the kids to hear, see, and touch instruments like the doumbek drum from the Middle East, the gongs from China, the koto from Japan to name a few. Mr. Wasserman was a masterful educator and gifted our children with an incredible experience that they will remember for a lifetime.
Holidays in the Music Room
The students in Mrs. Dearstyne's class display their "Tip Top Tiger Teamwork" while dancing the Hora, a traditional dance of celebration in the Jewish community.
Mrs. Higdon's class poses with our special guest for the month of December, the Nutcracker! He visits the Music Room each holiday season to remind us that having good character and a kind heart matter more than one's outward appearance!
A student uses her imagination to create her own rendition of "The Sugar Plum Fairy" while listening to the music from the traditional Christmas ballet.
Hour of Code
Along with millions of others across the globe, students at Three Bridges School participated in this year’s Hour of Code held during Computer Science Education Week. Schools are encouraged to provide a one-hour introduction to computer science designed to show that anyone can learn the basics of computer coding. The Hour of Code is organized by Code.org, a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding participation in computer science.
Pajama Drive
During December, the Student Voice at Three Bridges School collected new pajamas and books to help children in need. Their collection was donated to the Pajama Project, a non-profit organization that provides pajamas and new books to children in need, many of whom are waiting and hoping to be adopted. On December 18, staff and students celebrated by wearing their own pajamas to school.
Kindergarten Students Make Snowman Paper Plate Masks
The third grade has collected over 500 markers to recycle through the Crayola ColorCycle Program.
