Principal's Post
Good Afternoon WMS Community,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank publicly the students and staff of Woodbury Middle School for their immediate attention to a potential safety issue that may have influenced our school. Thankfully, this incident turned out to be unsubstantiated and our school community remains to be safe. As these incidents occur, the need to reflect upon our practices is always a priority. Our primary focus will continue to be the safety of our students and staff. A special thanks to our SRO Officer Tom Federowicz and the Woodbury Police department for their immediate attention on this day.Always remember "If you see something, say something".
Speaking of Officer Tom, our students celebrated national Law Enforcement Day with posters displayed throughout the school thanking him for keeping us safe.
We would like to welcome two new additions to our community, Jayme Hebert and Jeremy Heyel. Ms. Hebert is an intern coming to us from the University of Bridgeport and Mr. Heyel will be covering Mrs. South’s eighth grade social studies classes while she is out on leave.
Reminder, January 18th is a teacher professional learning day and dismissal will be at 11:55 and Monday, January 21st School is closed to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Have a great weekend,
Bill Nemec, Principal
