Watch your mouth!
Good pronunciation is extremely important when learning a new language and the best way to improve your pronunciation is thorough practice. This is why we include speaking assignments as part of your course work in Japanese 1.
Listening to spoken Japanese either through course materials, videos or music will increase your exposure to the language, which will have a positive impact on your pronunciation.
This week, before submitting your speaking assignment, please take a few minutes to watch this week's video and listen for your new vocabulary words. Try repeating your new vocabulary words out loud when you hear them.
Try to practice reciting the lines for your speaking assignment out loud a few times before you go to record and submit them. The more you listen to spoken Japanese and practice speaking, the better your pronunciation will be!
Another great way to practice speaking is to attend your coaching sessions twice a week and practice speaking with your coach and fellow classmates.
