Bailey

A Faithful Companion Remembered

In honor of Bailey

Leash totally taut, she could nearly tear your shoulder from its socket as you briskly trot (at her pace) down the road to points (she personally) would determine, stopping at any and every interesting item (solely her choice) in her path and then deciding (through her own will) when it was time to proceed onward, or backwards, into the ditch or cross over to the ditch on the opposite side of the road. Walking the dog was an understatement. She walked you, or rather, ran you.

Pound puppies are like a box of chocolates - you never know what you are going to get. But there was no need to 'push your finger underneath the candy' to see what might be in store. Delight, entertainment, championship, and a truly faithful friend are what we received from Bailey - without even wishing for it!

Thank you, Bailey-Girl, for enriching all our lives. You were one fine dog and definitely truly loved.

God - Spelled Backwards

When God had made the earth and sky,
The flowers and the trees.
He then made all the animals,
The fish, the birds and bees.
And when at last He'd finished,
Not one was quite the same.
He said, "I'll walk this world of mine,
And give each one a name."
And so He traveled far and wide
And everywhere He went,
A little creature followed Him
Until its strength was spent.
When all were named upon the earth
And in the sky and sea,
The little creature said, "Dear Lord,
There's not one left for me."
Kindly the Father said to him,
"I've left you to the end.
I've turned my own name back to front
And called you dog, my friend."
