Strategy Spotlight

FOLLOW UP: Several teachers responded to my SMORE last week that they liked the video clip I shared about "Talk Moves." So I thought I would leave it in for one more week in case you didn't get a chance to view it last week. I also put a simple handout that outlines the different types of discussions in each of your mailboxes (copied on yellow paper). Please let me know if I can support you and the use of Talk Moves in your classroom!

The method is modeled with math instruction, however, the strategies are useful in any content. Implement and let your students take charge of their learning through organized discussion.

Conference Letters about FAST

I will be working on getting all of the letters that need to go home with certain families at conferences this week prepared and to each teacher. You will only get the letters if you have a student that needs to get them. The letters will be labeled with the student you need to give it to at conference time.


DON'T FORGET: Any student who is getting weekly progress monitored will need an updated graph to go home with them/their parent(s) at conferences (if the student is being progress monitored at two different grade levels make sure both graphs get printed and sent home). Conferences are a great opportunity to explain in person what those graphs mean. Please let me know if you need any help printing graphs or understanding them so you can explain them to parents. There is a way to print multiple students graphs all at once - let me know if you want me to show you how.

No Intervention on 12:45 Early Outs/PTC Days

Just a reminder that we are unable to do interventions this year on our 12:45 Early Out/PTC days. We will work on fixing that for next year's schedules as we know it is not ideal to not have intervention on those days throughout the year.

  • 3:30 - 3rd grade team planning

Wednesday:

  • 7:45 - Data team meeting
  • 10:10 - Assist with blended in two different 3rd grade classrooms
  • 12:10 - Writing unit in a 3rd grade classroom
  • 12:55 - Modeling a fluency intervention in a 4th grade classroom
  • 1:30 - Triad meeting with Jon and Jennifer
  • 2:30 - Weekly meeting with Jennifer

Thursday:

  • 10:00 - Meeting with Heather
  • 12:10 - Writing unit in a 3rd grade classroom
  • Parent Teacher Conferences

Friday:

  • 7:30 - Special Education meeting
  • 8:40 - 10:50 Learning meetings with 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade
  • 12:00 - IC weekly meeting
