Remote Learning Student of the Week

We would like to recognize the students that are going above and beyond to be successful with remote learning. We know how challenging it is to work from home. Your teachers will be on the look out for students working extra hard! Two students will be recognized each week on the Friday Broadcast and will receive a special award. Keep up the great work!

Zones of Regulation

Anyone else feeling like their emotions are all over the place? That is what stress will do! It helps to take a moment to identify and label your feelings and then you can use a coping strategy. The Zones of Regulation helps identify feelings. Can you remember what feelings are in each zone? Which coping strategies help you get back into the Green zone where you feel focused and calm? Here are a few strategies to try:

  • take a walk
  • deep breathing
  • cuddle with a pet
  • read a book
  • exercise

Motivating Your Child

Is anyone else struggling to motivate their child to do their school work, chores or really anything?? We know it's not easy, but a visual like a chart can help. Check out the example below or visit https://www.freeprintablebehaviorcharts.com/chorecharts4-10.htm to customize your own. A few tips:

  • Keep it short and sweet
  • Be consistent with rewards
  • Keep the rewards small and manageable
  • Character Cash makes a great reward
  • Give lots of praise
  • Remember the IF- THEN RULE (If you do this, then you can do that)
  • Natural consequences - no work = no reward
