November 2020
Principal's Corner
October has been an exciting month here at Pine Street. Students are really getting into the swing of things with both their in person learning days and virtual learning days. Teachers and parents were able to connect during parent teacher conferences earlier this month. We were able to have a little bit of "normal" with our Halloween celebrations this past week. It was so great to see many of the students dressed up and celebrating with their classmates.
Last Monday night the Wayland School Board approved the updated Instructional Plan which includes moving to an Enhanced Hybrid starting Trimester 2, November 16th. The Enhanced Hybrid will follow the same A/B schedule. We will stay in the Enhanced Hybrid until the school district maintains a risk level C from the Allegan County Health Department for 3 weeks in a row.
As we look ahead to the end of the first trimester and the beginning of the second trimester our teachers and district teams are meeting and planning on ways we can enhance our hybrid model. These enhancements will be based on the results of the parent survey and instructional staff expertise. These improvements will be implemented as the "Enhanced Hybrid Model" at the start of second trimester. As we solidify our plans in the coming weeks we will keep parents updated.
The Pine Street staff would again like to take the time to thank you all for your continued support and your involvement in your child's education. Our Pine Street community makes a great team! Please don't hesitate to reach out to myself, Mr. Omness or your child's teacher if you have any questions or concerns.

Pine Street Elementary School Rewards
By submitting original propane receipts we earn .02cents for every gallon of propane, up to $2,000 a year! If you or friends/family members you know use AmeriGas for your propane, all you need to do is send your original receipts into school, put them into an envelope labeled “WIPTO” or “Emily Pell” & we will collect & turn them in!
Help us raise funds by saving specially-marked Aunt Millie’s (SUNBEAM OR HOLSUM) and Soft’N Good bread bags. It’s easy! All you have to do is clip out & save the UPC code on the bottom of the bread bags.
The Box Tops can be recorded in two ways.
Scan it: Box Tops can be earned digitally by scanning your receipt. The Box Tops for Education team has worked hard to build a NEW-and-improved, user-friendly Box Tops mobile app, available now.
Clip it: If you still have traditional Box Tops clips at home, make sure to send them to school. We will still earn cash for all clipped Box Tops until they expire.
When you make Coca-Cola purchases, send in your plastic caps or codes printed inside cardboard cartons and we make sure our school receives a donation. There is a rewards drop off box outside the office.
