Keeping everyone in the loop!

The Environmental Science Center

The journey from concept to concrete is now complete! The Environmental Science Center houses two multi-purpose classrooms that can be used for instruction, labs and/or research. Student research will encompass projects investigating new biofuels, enhancing carbon sequestration in bioreactors, vertical gardens as teaching tools, and creating ‘smart’ pesticides using coated nanoparticles. The future of the Environmental Science complex at BCA is limitless; it will allow students to explore issues in sustainability on the local and global levels.

Possible China Collaboration

Expanding our Global Exchanges

In our continuing effort to expand our Global Exchange Programs, Mark Tronicke and I met with representatives from the China Culture & Education Center to discuss a possible collaboration in Beijing. The goal is for 10-15 students from China to visit BCA and 10-15 BCA students to travel to China in the summer of 2017. We were identified through NCSSS as one of the top schools in the country which attracted the representatives from the China Culture & Education Center to visit our school. We will provide you with an update on this collaboration as talks progress.

Spinosaurus Jaw Bone

Several teachers met with Rich Panicucci, Dennis Montone and myself to discuss possible research involving the Spinosaurus Jaw Bone. We plan to conduct an elemental analysis of the bone. If you know of any students interested in paleontology or conducting this type of research please let us know.
