Te Whare Akoranga o Maungawhau, August 4, 2022
From The Principal
I’d like to congratulate our Chess Team this week for achieving 2nd place (by an extremely narrow margin!) in the Regional Final, with players Pippa and Johnny qualifying to compete at National level. This is an outstanding achievement and a credit to the whole team.
Next week, we are looking forward to celebrating Maths Week, with a range of engaging maths-related activities across the school. This is a perfect opportunity to celebrate our approach to authentic mathematical problem-solving in a fun and collaborative way at all year levels, and we’re sure the children will enjoy the many opportunities on offer.
Looking ahead, next week brings the Rugby and Rippa Zones competition, which the teams have been training hard for, and I know everyone will be wishing all of our participants the best of luck.
Finally, I would like to acknowledge all those who have now put their names forward as nominees for the upcoming Board Election. It’s exciting to see the diverse expertise and wealth of enthusiasm for our school that is on offer, and we’re looking forward to welcoming and working alongside the new Board following the election in early September.
If you have not already done so, we encourage all parents to complete the survey below to share your priorities in support of the incoming Board as we work towards developing our goals for the next few years, so please don't miss this opportunity to get involved and let us know your thoughts.

August PTA Meeting - online
Thanks to the parents, caregivers and senior school representative that attended this months meeting.

Fundraising ideas
For the September meeting we have put a call out for fundraising ideas. In 2023 it is unlikely we will have a Food and Fun Fair so we can return to the more favourable Term 1 timing in 2024. With this in mind we need a roster of new and proven fundraising activities for 2023. Please join us at the start of September if you have ideas or email menpspta@gmail.com.

Support our school by eating a delicious Roast at The Bridgman.
Seems too easy but $10 of every kids meal goes directly to our school funds. All you need to do is book your table and put MENPS into the ‘requests’ box and they will donate the profits of your kids meals back to the school.
Easy right?
Just book here - The Bridgman | Corner of Dominion & Valley Roads | Carefully curated food, drinks & cocktails.
