Mission Elementary
Riding the Wave of Excellence!
February 19, 2023
The smiles on our students this week, when they received their candy or flower grams, were priceless. Thank you so much to all the parents that made this event possible!
What else is happening at Mission you ask? 5th Grade Camp is coming up in May and the funds raised by the sales made through Pacific Fundraiser by 5th grade students will help reduce the cost of this amazing opportunity! Please ask friends and family members to support their efforts! Order forms are coming the week we return from break and they are due back by March 14. More details HERE.
Join us on Friday, March 3 from 1:30-2:15pm. This family event is in celebration of Read Across America, which originated as an initiative organized by the National Education Association as a special day dedicated to inspiring children to read. Families are invited to enjoy reading a book together. Bring the sign with your child's name to help us quickly locate your student. Also, bring a book and a blanket and enjoy family reading time on our grass field! Other events happening in the library this week.
Duty Supervisors needed: Are you interested in becoming part of Mission's amazing staff? There is an opening for a recess duty supervisor and we'd love to have you join our staff family. If interested or if you know of anyone interested, please see the details HERE.

Berry Good Food
We have an opportunity to partner with Berry Good Food to cultivate our existing school gardens and bring our school community together for gardening projects. We are looking for families and students interested in being part of the committee and also lend helping hands. If you are interested, have gardening skills or want to learn how to garden please connect with Rosana Martinez in person, phone 760-966-8749 or email at rosana.martinez@oside.us
The following survey will provide our district with information on your experiences with OUSD. The survey data will be shared with our LCAP committee. Your feedback will be used to make recommendations to the Board of Education based on the needs of our OUSD community. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey by February 28, 2023.
