Thank You for a GREAT Testing Week!

Here’s what’s happening in my corner this week!
Monday – new habit! We will focus on Habit 5: Seek First to Understand then to be Understood.
A quick, fun way to review over this habit is to play the game “Telephone” with your class! The game won’t work unless you first understand what the person was whispering to you and then try to make yourself understood to the next person. I encourage you to play it a few times with different rules. For example, the first time with the rule that you cannot ask the person to repeat themselves whether you heard correctly or not. The second time, remind your students to use other habits to be proactive and set a goal to see if the class can make it all the way around the circle correctly. A rule might be to allow the other person to repeat themselves as many times as necessary.

Another quick lesson is to read the book, Enemy Pie, by Derek Munson. (I have a personal copy I’m willing to loan out, or I'm more than happy to come visit your class!!) In the book, the character doesn’t like his new neighbor, until he is forced to actually get to know the new neighbor. I have attached a few different activities you may complete after you read (Please refer to email).

Don’t forget to continue nominating students, especially for Habit 5!!
****In addition to Habit 5, we will be talking about colleges and careers on the announcements! I will be giving away college prizes all week!! (This is after we meet in Monday to discuss my ideas for a small college week and career day. Small due to time and Leadership Day this year.)
Thank you!! And enjoy your Sunday!!
