OVS Update

March 20, 2020

We know this can be a lonely time, and we want to encourage you to connect with one another. How??

  • join our private Facebook group for learning coaches
  • use our OVS family directory to find contact information for other families in the program.

We are going to host a theme every week for learners to share their OVS spirit on Facebook (and love for learning!). Next week (March 30-April 3), post a picture of you, your learners, or your pets wearing your OVS gear or colors on our Facebook page...Our colors are Blue and yellow:) You can post your picture any day during the week, because we are nothing but flexible at OVS!!!

LC Connection--the kids don't get to have all the fun!!

Join Dr. Loewenstein and other LCs on Thursday night at 7pm to check in, ask questions, share ideas. This is an informal opportunity to connect with one another and ask Wendy questions! Her dogs might make an appearance, too! Click HERE to join us on Thursday night at 7pm!!

Stay safe and stay healthy!

Connect with OVS families in this private group for support, advice, and connections!

OVS Directory

The OVS school directory is now complete and ready for you to use. There are tabs at the bottom that have all students, and students sorted by day of attendance. Please note, students are only listed if parents filled out the form to be included. Please contact Brooke via email if you are not included and wish to be added. brooke.donnelly@ops.org

If you requested a printed copy in the form, you should have received it at conferences.

K12 Re-Registration--Action needed

Re-registration in K12 has opened up to all OVS families. We still have 105 learners who have not indicated a choice for next year. Please take a moment to let us know your plans for next year.

Please take a moment to sign into the parent portal, find your students name, and click re-register for next year. You will be able to choose registering, not registering, or undecided.

You will need to be the legal guardian of the learner to re-register this year. If you have any issues, please contact Brooke. Here is a video to help you through the process.

Middle School Summer School Opportunity

Big picture

The City of Omaha, Omaha Police Department, Boys Town National Hotline and area school districts are collaborating on a platform that allows students, families and even staff to anonymously report safety concerns to trained counselors and law enforcement. Those concerns may be about personal safety, self-harm, or threats against another person or the community.

You may have seen coverage of the partnership and platform in local media this week.
