Principal's Message
As a teacher for 15 years in the elementary setting it would be wrong of me to omit Dr. Suess in this newsletter's publication. Happy Birthday to him and welcome all to March is Reading Month!
“Kid, you’ll move mountains! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So get on your way!”
The past couple of weeks have been great here at Lincoln. This has a lot to do with the students taking advantage of their learning opportunities and showing that off. One of the biggest pushes that we have been working on is the FVA (Tull Value Agreement) and PBIS (positive behavior intervention supports). These two areas of focus have been in the form of specific teaching of expectations in every different area in the school. Our students were very good listeners and are living up to those expectations. They are very receptive to teaching and learning. Mountains for them are conquered each and every day!
“It is better to know how to learn than to know.”
A great deal of this took place on Monday. Multiple people have come into our school and mentioned to me that the level of respect and behavior of Lincoln is the best that they have seen! This is a testament to the amazing parents and staff that continue to stress such high expectations for our students. Thank you!
“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.”
“A person’s a person, no matter how small.”
This mantra is so true for all kids as they all have a mind of their own. The wonderful thing is that the students at Lincoln are choosing to be helpful and respectful. I had a very heartwarming voicemail from a grandparent who talked about how a random student without being asked took time out of their day to help with their grandchild who fell down and hurt themselves. WIthout hesitation, a student rushed in to help. I see this all the time. In the hall, on the playground, and in the class. Our 5th graders on safety all of the time show these attributes as well!
The Lorax. “It's not about what it is, it's about what it can become.”
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.”
The main purpose of our school is to prepare our students for life. There are so many amazing people who are working as a champion for our kids. We are tirelessly working to inspire the best in each and every student. They see the potential in each student and they care a ton. We have three months left to get after this crazy school year. Keep pushing and working hard. Thanks for the wonderful support from everyone!

Lincoln Leave a Legacy
Let’s celebrate! This year marks the 34th anniversary of Lincoln’s Leave a Legacy program! Families that choose to participate help furnish the library with new books. Every book gets a special bookplate put in the front to honor those who give. Each student received a flyer in their Thursday folders detailing how to Leave a Legacy. It’s a great way to show your students how much you value reading!
