Virtual Field Day
Mrs. Sowinski has shared a fun idea with our staff and we'd like to pass it onto our families as well.
Field day is always such a fun day for our students. It's fun for us too! So, although we aren't at school, we thought that families might have fun participating in their own Family Field Day through "Open National Field Days." Families could participate the first week of June and send in pictures of their field days which we could post on the Grewenow Website and Facebook sites.
Attached is a family packet link with information that families will need to participate. There is no registration required. This is just for fun!

This week students will be learning about farm animals!! Students will listen to stories about silly farm animals and life on the farm! They can also practice beginning sound awareness, by naming the beginning sound of various farm animals and items found on a farm! In art, they can make a pig using various shapes and paint a barn after listening to the story, “The Big Red Barn.” In science, they can explore a chicken egg and learn how to make it bounce! In math, they can compare and contrast the sizes of various fruits and veggies using rulers, scales or other materials you have around the house.. Finally, don’t forget to dance and boogie to some fun songs about life on the farm! Enjoy and have a great week.
Group Farm Theme Scene
In advance, cut out a large piece of paper to fit in the middle of the circle area. Draw a large barn on it. Discuss farm life. Give the children markers so that they can add to the scene during the discussion! See example:
