Van Brunt Elementary
November 2015
Wow! What an incredible first quarter! I appreciate the partnerships that are being formed between school and home. It is so important to work together to help ensure your child's success. Talking to your child about their day, checking backpacks, listening to your child read, practicing math facts, and contacting school when you have questions are all great ways to be involved. Staff members continue to work with students to set goals and celebrate successes. We had a great turn out at conferences and appreciate the opportunity to talk about your child's strengths and areas for growth.
We continue to reinforce and practice routines, procedures, and expectations. The importance of using kind words and demonstrating respect for all are key topics of discussion. So many students are modeling these behaviors every day, and those students are recognized for acting as positive role models. If students are struggling with kind words and respect, they are provided with opportunities to practice these important life long skills. Please take a moment and talk with your child about how they feel they are doing in this area. You may also contact your child's teacher if you have questions or concerns.
As always, my door is open if you would like to talk with me about your child's progress in school.
