Great Beginnings!
The library at East Kemper Elementary welcomed students back to school with the addition of new technology. This school term the library has added a touch screen Promethean board, I-pads, and a 3-D printer. These items will be utilized to show students how technology can make reading and learning exciting. Keep an eye out for new technological advances throughout the school year.

The Library and Accelerated Reading
In the library, students are encouraged to read books from all genres as well as books that revolve around their interests and get them excited about reading. All library books are not accelerated reading books. Accelerated reading books are labeled with accelerated reading stickers. Third - sixth grade students are allowed to check out two books at a time, one accelerated reading book and one book of their choice. If you are curious about whether or not any books has an accelerated reading test, you can visit www.arbookfind.com and type in the name of the book to see if the book has a test on it.
