What the Tech?!

2022-2023 Back to School Issue

Big picture

Dear Teachers,

Welcome back for a new and innovative year! I hope this school year is great for you and our students. This year I hope to bring new technology ideas in that will supplement what you are doing in the classroom as well as make your life less complicated. I also hope to help teachers with integrating some project-based learning activities or units into their instruction. Below I have added just some tech tips and reminders for this school year.

Have a great year!

Weekly Assignment Sheets

Start with Key Info for the Week (and use titles!). These sheets can be uploaded to Google Classroom for your students at the beginning of each week for quick reminders of what is being covered and when it is due. You can create a topic in Google Classroom for Weekly Assignment Sheets or if you are using the weekly dates as a topic you can include it under that topic. Below are some examples. A couple of them are elementary based but could be modified to be topic based with the inclusion of key words for the week, I Can statements, and objectives for the week.

New Tech Ideas with Whiteboard.fi

Whiteboard.fi is a simple tool that can be used instantly. Create a class and let your students join, using a link, room code or QR code.

Everyone will get an individual digital whiteboard, where they can draw, write text, make notations on images, add math equations, and more!

You as a teacher see all your students' whiteboards in real time, so you can follow their progress, while the students only see their own whiteboard and the teacher's.

Whiteboard.fi is an instant formative assessment tool for your classroom, providing you with live feedback and immediate overview over your students.

Engage your whole class, include every student and let everybody answer - including the shy students or students who normally wouldn't bother to answer! Click on the image below to learn more!
