2021 - 2022
News from the Principal's Office
I can't believe we are already in May! This year has flown by and I am so pleased with the growth each child has made. Kindergarten students are experts on the campus, they are self-assured and ready to take on first grade. The fifth grade students will be leaving the Brooker community and moving on to their middle school experience, and each student has left their mark. We will miss each one but know they are off to great things!
I want to say a special thank you to our wonderful PTA and their support this past year. PTA is always eager to support and volunteer, and this year, like last year, we were unable to have as much daily volunteerism in our classrooms. The Brooker staff is looking forward to collaborating with our parents and families to help grow each student at this school. If you want to partner with your child and the school, please contact the PTA to get on the volunteer list. As a reminder, each year volunteers need to complete the Volunteer Application. This year's application is good for the remainder of this school year.
Thank you again for all you do to ensure your student is prepared for the day.
Enjoy the month ahead!

Notes from Norris
Spring Assessment
students in grades 3 - 5. Remember in order for students to receive a score for FSA ELA in grades 4 and 5, they must take the writing test and the reading test.
May 3 - 4 Gr 4 & 5 FSA Reading (2-Day)
May 10 - 11 Gr 3 - 5 FSA Math (2-Day)
May 17 - 18 Gr 5 Science (2-Day)
The best way to help students prepare for testing is to make sure they get a good nights sleep, each a good breakfast (remember we serve free breakfast at school), and arrive at school each day before 7:40. As always, words of encouragement help them as well.
Summer Learning Program
We are excited to announce our 2022 Summer Learning Program (SLP) offerings that will be afforded to some of our students. The SLP program provides for continuity of learning and is specifically for some of our k-5 students who are currently enrolled at Brooker Elementary. The key areas of focus include elementary literacy and STEM. The program will be Monday through Thursday from June 13 to July 14. Our students will be attending SLP at Valrico Elementary. If your child is eligible for this program, you will be receiving enrollment information soon.
