Hello Falcon Families!

Students returning to school this week created a renewed sense of energy at SLMS. Given that students have been away from our halls and classrooms since March 13, it was exciting to experience their return and a sense of normalcy.

I am proud of our students' response to the changes that we are all having to adapt to in order to make in-person learning work. They seem genuinely excited to be back and are doing their part to make SLMS safe.

Thank you families for being agile and accommodating of our new procedures in the morning and afternoon that have impacted our car riders. Our hope was to create a process that was efficient and, most importantly, safe for all involved.

A few weeks ago, I had communicated information to you about NWEA testing in the areas of Math and ELA. The original plan called for testing on Wednesdays. Having run into many issues with this during the first round of Math testing, we have decided to have students test in-person beginning next week with ELA. We are confident that this environment should prove to be less frustrating for our students.

Many thanks again for all you do to support your middle school child and SLMS. Have a terrific weekend.

David Mitchell

Principal, SLMS

All-School Magazine Fundraiser Sale Benefits All SLMS Students

The Magazine Sale has been a part of SLMS since we opened our doors more than 20 years ago. However, with the unique start to the school year, we are forgoing our only fundraiser, the Magazine Sale, as we traditionally know it. Parents and friends are still welcome to renew current magazine subscriptions or purchase new magazines through our school using the link and code below. Our school still receives a portion of the profits; however, there will not be any prizes, homeroom competitions, or recognitions.

Please use the website with SLMS code: 2488427 for renewals or click the link above.
