Irvington Weekly Newsletter
March 17, 2023
Just a heads up that this will be the last newsletter before spring break. Whether you have plans or not, I hope that you and your family have the opportunity to relax and rejuvinate during the week off. We've only got two months after that!
With care,
Mr. G.
PS: Maybe see you at the auction tomorrow??
After-School Classes and Scholarships
There’s still space available in many of the spring after school classes! Scholarships are available too! Check out the PTA website for class offerings, registration information, and scholarship forms.
A few things to note:
Monday Legos, Wednesday Art and Friday Spanish at 3:00 are full.
A 4:15 K-2 Spanish Class has been added to the schedule. A link to register is on the PTA website now.
For families registered or planning to register for Hoops: It will now be a 9 week session with no class the week of April 24.
For families registered or considering registering for French: Jamie Michaud, the French teacher, has asked to let you know that if your 3rd-5th grader would like to sign up for the 4:05 French class, they are welcome to stay with Jamie during the 3:00 K-2 French class and use the time as a quiet study hall until the second class begins. If this arrangement works for your family, please email Jamie at jamie@clutureclubkids.com. Additionally, students enrolled in IED are also able to join the 4:05 French class.
Rose City Chess Club will be registering for a Tuesday class soon! Check the PTA website early next week for a link!
Registration closes Friday, March 24.

Tomorrow Is the Irvington Auction!
Our school auction is tomorrow night, and there’s still a few tickets left! You can visit the website to buy tickets, get your Golden Ticket, and read your guide to the auction. The event features exclusive auction items you can only bid on in-person, as well as a fabulous prom party.
Doors open at 6 p.m. at Show Bar at Revolution Hall.
You can bid on the more than 140 auction items online until 9pm on March 20.
What does the auction do for our school?
Our fundraising allows the PTA to provide countless free services to our students and staff, including:
100% of each child’s school supplies and field trip fees
$1,000 for each teacher to use for their own classroom supplies, and $2,500 for our school library
Scholarships for after school programs, allowing dozens of students to participate for free in activities like chess club, guitar, basketball, art, and yoga
Funding for our Families of Students of Color group and our Green Team
Auction: Golden Ticket
There are still Golden Tickets available, part of our awesome Irvington School Auction fundraising efforts. One lucky ticket holder will get to choose 1 of 8 awesome trip packages. There are only 100 tickets available for $100 each; when they’re gone, they’re gone. We’ll draw one winner at the live auction event (you do not need to be present to win). Anyone in Oregon can buy a ticket, and there’s no limit to how many you can buy (until they’re sold out, that is).
