NEWS FROM DR. CHAUSSEE
Winter 2020 MAP Results...
Students have now completed the MAP testing for the winter in all grades. Parents will get the results next month during parent teacher conferences. The chart below shows the median percentile data collected from fall, 2020 to winter, 2020. The percentile is a student’s ranking compared to other students in the same grade. As an example shown in the top chart below, Abbott’s median percentile for all students was the 78th percentile for math in the winter of 2020 compared to the 73nd percentile for the district. In other words, the average Abbott student outperformed 78% of others in the same grade level in math at the same time of the year. In the middle column the numbers indicate the growth percentile from fall to winter (F2W). The last two columns show the percent of students meeting their growth expectations. Green indicates above average. Remember, there are three ways we look at data: achievement, growth, and percent mastery of growth expectations (did the student meet or exceed his/her goal?). Reminder: Spring MAP tests were not given due to Covid.

Hopefully this finds you doing well. With conferences coming up soon, I wanted to let you know that I am available to talk to you. Much like classroom conferences, mine will look a little differently than in the past. I will be available to Zoom with families on February 4th and 9th from 4:00 - 8:00 and on February 10th from 8:00 - 4:00. If you would like to meet with me, please send me an email at bmstruck@mpsomaha.org or give me a call at Abbott, 402-715-2900, or Aldrich, 402-715-2020, and I’ll get you scheduled.
Thanks

Free Breakfast and Lunch
USDA PROVIDES FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH FOR ALL STUDENTS
Any Millard student or family member between the ages of 1 through 18 can receive the meals free of charge whether they are physically in school, participating as a remote learner, or are another child in the household. No paperwork or free/reduced meal forms are necessary to receive a free breakfast and lunch. Students who are in the building will continue their normal meal procedures in the cafeteria. A curbside order form can be completed for children who are not physically in school. This order form must be completed by 9:00 a.m. the day of pick-up. To access the menu and form, click here and then look under 'Free Community Meals.' Meals for all your children, regardless of grade level or age, can be picked-up from the selected school site between 10:00 am and 11:00 am daily. A la carte items like extra milk, snacks and C-Store purchases are not covered by the USDA, and children will need money in their account if they wish to purchase any of those items. Any money spent on reimbursable breakfast and/or lunch items since September 1st has been credited back to your student’s meal account. Your My School Bucks account should show records of a deposit on or around September 15th.
The United States Department of Agriculture, also known as the USDA, is providing community meals between now and the end of the school year or for as long as the funding lasts. This is to help families who are facing food shortages because of the ongoing pandemic.
