Principal's HOOT

Hello Champions!

I am excited to tell you all about a new type of assessment that we will be using to track our students' progress at GCA this year. It's called the MAP tests, and we will be using it to see how much your math, reading, and English skills improve this year. Don't worry – you don't get a grade for this test! It's just our way of seeing how much you learn and how well we have taught you over the course of the year.

Next week, you'll be receiving emails about the tests from your Math, Science, and English teachers about the three different MAP tests you'll be taking. If you are dual enrolled or in Credit Recovery, one of our administrators may reach out to you about the tests as well. Pay attention to those emails, and take the tests as soon as possible.

We anticipate that these tests will show lots of growth and learning this year. Keep working hard, and be excited to show what you know!!!

Meet Ms. Gatch

Cassie Gatch is a GCA High School US History teacher—she’s been with GCA for going on 6 years. Cassie is dedicated to student success and works very hard to make sure that her students have everything they need, including putting in extra time to find additional resources and materials for them, creating lesson ideas and sharing them with her content team, and co-teaching so that she can provide extra support to a group of Special Education students. Cassie is diligent, a known problem solver, and caring toward her students and takes a personal interest in seeing them flourish. She is thoughtful; known for carefully crafting solutions that benefit her team and GCA as a whole. Her contributions to the US History team show that she values student achievement not only in her own classes but in the entire content area. Thanks for all of your hard work, Cassie!
