Distance Learning at Jackson
April 13-17
Principally Speaking with Mrs. Miller
As we continue our "official" second week of Distance Learning (although it is the start of our 5th week away from one another), staff have been working hard to prepare activities and lessons to help your child(ren) learn from a distance, while maintaining a focus on state standards. The beginning of last week has shown students accessing their curriculum, but by the end of the week, some students have tapered off from doing work.
Encourage your child(ren) to access Distance Learning at least one a day, to complete at least one task a day. ("At Least One Access, At Least One Task") The Jackson Staff understands that each family has their own system for Distance Learning, their own process, and schedule. Please reach out to our staff if you need any support, if you have questions, or if you need suggestions.
Please do not hesitate to communicate with your child(ren)'s teacher during their office hours or me at any time.
Stay safe, healthy, and take care of each other!
Thank you,
Sara Miller
Principal

Mrs. Thomas' Counseling Corner
Hello Jackson Students and Families/Guardians,
We often mispercieve children's emotions, especially during this trying and challenging time. The graphic below illustrates the various ways in which children may express their sadness.
This is true for now, any unusual circumstance, or a period of uncertainty in which a child may be going through (for example: divorce or separation, death, etc.).
I hope this helps to talk about your child's feelings. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
The following are ways you can contact me:
· Email: Sharon.thomas@d11.org
· Phone Number: 719-328-5836
