  • Tuesday's dress for New Hire will be gray/maroon/mustard HR tshirt. We will not be wearing jeans for any New Hire event.
  • Please be here by 7:15 for New Hire. We are hosting 83 new NISD employees!

  • Interesting tidbits....the NISD website remains our #1 recruitment tool and the average number of days to fill a vacancy is 12.
  • Sara Holloway will begin joining us this week as we work to transition her current position in construction. We will continue to share her with construction until that transition is complete. Let's give her a big HR welcome!

New Hire Orientation Theme - #experienceNISD

This year's theme for New Hire Orientation will be Experience NISD. One of our goals is to provide our employees with the lifestyle that NISD has to offer. During our research, we've found that individuals are looking for what districts have to offer them, rather than what they can offer a district. As we encounter the generational changes and shifts within our culture, we will always strive to mirror the needs of our growing population.


While New Hire Orientation will remain the same in practice, we are adjusting our presentation and activities to better reflect the needs of our new employees. We are working to provide moments, or memories, for them while introducing the important concepts of NISD. We will still cover the same topics as in years past, but the mode in which we share that information with them will be more interactive.

Summer Absences

Out for 1 personal, sick or vacation day - make up 1.5 hours

Out for 2 days - make up 3 hours

Out for 3 days - apply 1/2 additional sick, personal or vacation plus make up .5 hours


Please communicate with your supervisor to ensure that appropriate time is recorded for you.
