Empowering Excellence
Randall Update - From the Desk of Mr. Rivard
Our Valentine's Parties were a huge hit this past Wednesday (see pictures below). We are thrilled with the care and concern our students show each other during these special gatherings. They have a chance to practice our Fab Five (Empathy, Communication, Collaboration, Problem Solving, and Perseverance) with all of their friends. I also want to congratulate our Boys Basketball and Girls Cheerleading teams on successful seasons. I'd also like to remind our families that tryouts for Volleyball are coming up soon.
Keeping my fingers crossed that the groundhog was right and we really will have only 4 more weeks of Winter...
Go Wildcats!

Attendance Update - From the Deans (Mr. Adamek and Mrs. Sproul)
Attendance plays a crucial role in the educational experience at Randall, as it directly correlates with students' academic performance and engagement in the learning process. For the week of February 5-9, Randall recorded an attendance rate of 94.5% of the students present at school. This level of attendance demonstrates a strong commitment from both students and their families toward education. Maintaining and improving this percentage is a priority for the school administration, as high attendance rates often leads to better understanding of the material and increased chances of academic success. Randall continues to encourage and support its students in making school attendance a top priority, as it is a fundamental building block for future success.
We also want to celebrate the Mrs. Tenney's classroom for having perfect attendance the past two weeks!

Even more impressive was their teamwork - cheering on not only our teams but others as well. You should be so proud of your effort and enthusiasm!

Illness Spotlight: Influenza (Flu)
We have noticed increased cases of Influenza (Flu) in the community as well as at Randall. I wanted to provide some information from the CDC to help spread awareness of this respiratory illness. As a reminder if your child is sick please keep them home to reduce the spread of illness throughout the school.
What is Influenza (Flu)?
The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and sometimes the lungs. The virus can cause mild to severe illness. The best way to prevent the flu is by good handwashing and getting a yearly flu vaccination.
What are symptoms of the Flu?
Symptoms can include fever, chills, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose (congestion), muscle or body aches, headache, and fatigue (tiredness)
How is the flu spread?
The virus is spread by tiny droplets made when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby. Less often, people can get the flu by touching a surface or object that has the flu virus on it and then touching their nose, mouth or eyes.
What can be used to treat the Flu?
Your physician may prescribe an antiviral medication to help reduce the severity and length of illness. However, supportive care such as increased fluid intake, rest, and cold/flu medications can help with symptom management.
What can be done to prevent the spread of the flu?
Staying home when sick, staying away from people who are sick, covering coughs and sneezes and frequent handwashing can all help slow the spread of germs that cause respiratory illnesses such as the flu.
When can my child return to school?
Students can return to school when they have been fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication and symptoms are improving.

Celebrate and Recognize Randall Staff Members!
Is there a staff member that does an amazing job for your student(s) OR someone that you believe goes above and beyond and deserves to be told that?!?
Randall is asking our parents and caregivers to share who and why they would like to recognize. Between now and spring break we will be selecting one staff member to be recognized publicly from your input each week, but we need your help!
All staff members that are recognized will receive the WHY. Thank you for taking the time to share! Randall's staff appreciates hearing from our community!
Twin Lakes Library Resources/Information
February is National Library Lover's Month
February is dedicated to the people who love whole buildings devoted to reading, housing, organizing, categorizing, finding, studying and otherwise loving books. It’s National Library Lover’s Month.
Libraries provide so much more than a place for us to enjoy great novels or to discover amazing adventures and untold history. Yes, they help us ace our research papers and provide a quiet space to study, but they do so much more.
For preschoolers, libraries entertain them with theater and hands-on activities exposing them to music, art and their first friendships. Many communities rely on their libraries for meeting space for public forums, socials, fundraisers and classes.
Libraries lend not only books but music and movies. Rotating art displays give local artists exposure to the community. Larger libraries provide preservation services, preserving some of the most treasured books, periodicals and documents for future generations.
