Next week's Star Student will be: JAYDEN LEE

Monday: Send in 10-12 pictures for the students to share with the class.
Friday: Students will read a book aloud to the class and they may bring an item for Show and Tell.

Our Student-led Conferences are quickly approaching! The students and I look forward to visiting with you on October 7th or 8th to share their hard work, look at their data, and set some goals to help them grow this year. Please click the link below to sign up for a time slot!

Veteran's Day Program

Bransford Elementary will be celebrating Veterans' Day this year on November 11th. All students are encouraged to invite a veteran, family or friend, to our special day. We will begin at 8:30 am with a program and then veteran's will be honored with a PTA reception. Please, register your veteran at

Genius Hour is Coming!!!

Starting October 19th, we will begin implementing Genius Hour into the classroom. To kick this off, about half the class will be participating in the activity at a time. We will then switch and the other half of the class will get a chance to participate in Genius Hour. I am looking for some volunteers to come into the classroom for an hour of time to help assist students with their research and projects. If you would like to volunteer, please sign up here:

What Will We Learn Next Week???

Math (Week 2 of this!):
  • Students will be able to add up to four 2 digits numbers.
  • Students will be able to solve multi-step word problems.
  • Students will be able to write a word problem when given an equation.

Language Arts (including Social Studies):

  • Students will be able to compare different versions of the same story in traditional and contemporary folktales with respect to their characters, settings, and plots.
  • Students will be able to revise drafts by adding or deleting words, phrases, or sentences.
  • Students will be able to edit drafts for grammar and punctuation.
  • Students will be able to spell r-controlled words.
  • Students will be able to describe how weather patterns and seasonal patterns affect activities and settlement patterns.


  • Students will be able to combine materials that when put together can do things they cannot do themselves such as building a tower or a bridge and justify the selection of those materials based on their physical properties.
