Girls Volleyball Moves To 8-1 On The Season, Continues Dominant Run

Congratulations to Girls Volleyball for continuing their winning ways last week. The Lady Vikings picked up two GAC South victories and now sit atop the GAC South Standings. The Lady Vikings continue to build on their successful run that dates back to the 2011 season. Currently our "Spiking Vikings" have won 7 straight GAC Championships and have amassed a 67-2-1 conference record over that span. Good luck to these ladies as they work towards bringing home an 8th straight conference championship.

Girls Tennis Wins Summit Doubles Tournament

Congratulations to the Girls Tennis program on winning their second tournament of the season. The Lady Vikings competed in the Summit Doubles Tournament last week and walked away with the tournament title. Congratulations to these young ladies and they prepare to compete in the GAC Tournament.

Boys & Girls Cross Country Earn Medals At Sioux Passage

The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams competed in the Sioux Passage meet on Saturday and both programs turned in strong showings. The girls program finished third despite having several of their top six runners out and the boys program finished fourth. On the day the Vikings brought home six medalists. JV Volleyball Wins Howell Tournament

Congratulations to the JV Girls Volleyball team on winning the Howell JV Tournament. The Lady Vikings finished the day 4-0-1 to bring home the title. A special thank you to the staff, coaches and parents of the entire girls program for making this tournament possible.

Boys Soccer Program Volunteers At SPENSA

Over the past several years many Howell programs have started yearly traditions that revolve around service and outreach in our community. On Saturday, the boys soccer program continued their involvement and outreach in the community by volunteering with the Special Needs Soccer Association (SPENSA). The entire boys program took to the field to help young people with disabilities play soccer. The goal of is to bring the excitement and fun of playing soccer to players who traditionally have not had a place in the youth soccer system. For more information on SPENSA please visit

A special thank you to the boys soccer booster club for providing breakfast for the entire team and for covering the cost of a bus to take the entire program to participate in this great opportunity.

Boys Soccer Moves To 8-0; Ranked #4 In State

The Boys Soccer program has continued their winning ways as they moved to 8-0 on the season after adding three big wins to their resume this week. The Viking had convincing wins over Lindbergh, FZW and FHN. The soccer program has a big week ahead where they will play four games all against state ranked opponents. Good luck to our Vikings this week!

Girls Golf Finishes 6th In Tough Angel Classic

The Girls Golf program competed in the ultra competitive Angel Classic on Saturday and finished in 6th Place out of the tough field of 17 teams. Congratulations to sophomore Kylee Hormuth on finishing 9th and medaling at the tournament.

Football Blanks FHC On The Road

The football program continued it's winning ways in dominant fashion with a 42-0 win over FHC on Friday night. The Vikings were paced by a balanced offensive attack through the air and on the ground. The victory extended the win streak of the football program over FHC to 11 straight years.

The past two weeks the Vikings have outscored their opponents 91-10. Next up are the Troy Trojans on the road. Troy is off to a hot 3-1 start this season. We look forward to seeing many Viking fans at Troy on Friday night. Thank you to our many fans that traveled to FHC on Friday!

Howell Softball Hosts 5th Annual Purple Out Game This Tuesday

The softball program will soon be hosting their 5th Annual "Purple Out" game. The game serves as a fundraiser for Friends of Kids With Cancer as well as the Trevor Joerling Scholarship which is given to a student each year at Francis Howell High School. This year the Lady Vikings will take on FHC at Lindenwood University on September 18th at 7pm. We encourage all Viking fans to come out and support this great event and fundraiser. The 5th Annual Purple Out game is just another great example of how the Howell programs serve others and give back to our community.

Mandatory Winter Meet The Coaches Set For October 10th

The winter season "Meet the Coaches" has been set for October 10th. Eligibility paperwork turn in will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the high school commons with the meeting portion of the evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. All eligibility paperwork must be complete to be turned in. All students participating in a fall MSHSAA sponsored activity must have this completed prior to the first day on October 29th. It is recommended that all paperwork be turned in at the "Meet the Coaches" event on October 10th. To ensure participation on October 29th all fully complete paperwork must be turned in no later than October 25th at noon. A link to all eligibility paperwork can be found below.

DECA & FBLA Attend Cardinals Career Day

Howell DECA and FBLA students recently attended the Cardinals Career Day. The event gives high school students the opportunity to meet and ask questions with Cardinals executives regarding careers in sports and media. Students were able to ask questions about media, baseball operations, special events, ticket sales and corporate sales. Following the event students were able to attend the afternoon Cardinals game. Thank you to the St. Louis Cardinals and our DECA and FBLA sponsors for providing Howell students with a great opportunity to learn more about business careers in sports and media.

Football Player Recca Mentors At John Weldon

Being involved in an activity or sport at Howell carries many great responsibilities with it. One of the greatest responsivilities of being involved at Howell is representing our great school in a positive way through outreach in our community. Howell student-athlete and football player John Recca is doing just that through his involvment at John Weldon. Recca, a John Weldon alum is currently mentoring at the school. Thank you to John for helping to mold and mentor future leaders that will soon be Vikings at Howell!

Students Continue To "R.I.S.E. As One" Howell Family

If you have been on campus or attended one of our many Howell events this fall you may have seen students and staff members wearing a "R.I.S.E. As One" t-shirt. This school year students have the opportunity to earn a shirt by displaying our Howell activities department R.I.S.E. core values of Respect, Integrity, Sportsmanship and Excellence or our building R.I.S.E. core values of Respect, Integrity, Scholarship, and Empathy. Each week teachers, administrators and coaches have the opportunity to recognize students that have displayed and lived these core values in the classroom and in their activities and sports. The Howell teaching and coaching staff's look forward to recognizing the positive acdtions of the great young men and women we have at Howell.

Boys Swim Earns Win Over Eureka

The Boys Swim program earned a big 105-81 win over Eureka last week. The Vikings also dropped a close one to Parkway Central. Our boys swimmers are currently 3-2 on the season and have another big week ahead as they compete in the FHSD Tri as well as the FZW Relays. Good luck to our Viking swimmers this week!
