Jump Rope For Heart is Coming-February 9th

We had our kick off assembly on Wednesday for our school's big event about heart health and support for the American Heart Association. The presenter had a touching video about a little boy, Finn, who has had 18 operations on his heart, and how the donations have helped in researching ways to provide life for him. Thanks for your support and all of those who your children have asked to pledge for them. It will be quite an event.

Playground Fun at Recess

Some of the best times for children is at recess. It is a joy to see the children play different games, do different things, play on the equipment, and enjoying friends. Learning how to get along is a terrific by-product of play. The pics here show what our students are up to. Good times!

A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOOD SERVICE

January is the time to get healthy and try new things. Here are a few tips about our food service program: Did you know your child/children can take extra servings of fruits and vegetables everyday with the purchase of a meal? All they have to do is ask the server. Did you know that all our breads, breading, pizza crusts, muffins, and cookies are always 100% whole grain and taste amazing? Our food service program meets or exceeds all Federal and State nutritional guidelines to provide healthy lunches to all students.

Want to know the nutritional breakdown information for meals being served? We have online menus with descriptions of the entrees and what is contained in each serving. Check it out at this link: http://mertonk12.nutrislice.com/ OR go to the Merton School District website and click on the fork and spoon icon at the top. That will direct you to our School Lunch Program. Choose the Online Menus link. Next, choose the location you want to view and the monthly menu will appear. From here, you can also download the free Nutrislice App. Give our lunch program a try and check it out today!!!

Our assemblies share the same message to all of the children and we meet together as an entire school to help with the feeling of belonging to something bigger. The behavior of the children for our guests has been terrific.
